In Breton and French / En bretó i francès

Created in 1981 by the Regional Council of Brittany, the Institut Culturel de Bretagne works for the development and dissemination of the Breton culture, so that it becomes widely accepted. Its 17 sections intend to advance in the knowledge and the creation in their specific cultural field. They meet regularly in order to: organise workshops, round-tables and conferences, encourage the work of researchers, etc. The Institute also gives support to the cultural action and encourages any new developments.

Creat el 1981 pel Consell Regional de la Bretanya, l’Institut Culturel de Bretagne treballa per al desenvolupament i la difusió de la cultura bretona, per tal que sigui més àmpliament acceptada. Les seves 17 seccions es proposen avançar en el coneixement i la creació en el seu àmbit concret. Es reuneixen regularment amb l’objectiu de: organitzar tallers, taules rodones i jornades, fomentar la tasca dels investigadors, etc. Aquest institut també dóna suport a l’acció cultural i encoratja qualsevol nova realització.

Website of the online review Linguistica Occitana, supported by the association with the same name. Surveyed by a reading committee, the available articles deal with all aspects of research about the Occitan linguistics. They are written in Occitan, in another Romance language, or in English, and all of them are summed up in Occitan, Catalan, English and French. In this first issue of the review, you will find the articles and their abstracts, corresponding to some of the papers from the Obradors de Linguistica Occitana, organized in Nîmes in August 2002 and 2003. The second issue, corresponding as well to the Obrador de Linguistica Occitana of 2003, will be published in Autumn 2004, and the the call for papers for the 2005 issues will soon be made.

Web de la revista electrònica Linguistica Occitana, a la qual dóna suport l'associació de mateix nom. Examinats per un comitè de lectura, els articles que es proposen tracten sobre tots els aspectes de la investigació lingüística en el domini occità. Estan redactats en occità, en una altra llengua romànica o en anglès, i tots estan resumits en occità, català, anglès i francès. Trobareu, amb els seus resums, els articles del número 1, que corresponen a algunes comunicacions dels Obradors de Linguistica Occitana, organitzats a Nîmes l’agost de 2002 i 2003. El número 2, que correspon també a l'Obrador de Linguistica Occitana del 2003, es publicarà a la tardor del 2004, i aviat es farà una crida a comunicacions pels números que apareixeran en el 2005.

World Languages Network AMARAUNA is a project which aims to promote the linguistic rights and the goal is to strengthen relations among people and institutions that have realized about the importance of the heritage and diversity of the languages of the world. It intends to exchange experience and information making use of the possibilities that Internet provides. Any person or organisation will be able to participate presenting their works or offering their knowledge and experience. A forum will be created approaching this project to people in charge of maintaining the linguistic heritage, researchers, working groups, etc. It will promote the establishment of an adequate linguistic policy for the recuperation of languages in danger.

La Xarxa de Llengües AMARAUNA / World Languages Network és un projecte que pretén fomentar els drets lingüístics i impulsar les relacions entre les persones i les institucions que són conscients de la importància de conservar el patrimoni. El seu objectiu fonamental és, doncs, fomentar la diversitat de les llengües del món. AMARAUNA vol facilitar l’intercanvi de l’experiència i de la informació, utilitzant les possibilitats que ofereix Internet. En aquest projecte hi podrà participar qualsevol persona o entitat que vulgui presentar el seu coneixement i la seva experiència en aquest àmbit. A més, es crearà un fòrum de debat a Internet que aproparà aquest projecte a tots els interessats, tant planificadors lingüístics, com investigadors, grups de treball, organitzacions de sensibilització, etc. També impulsarà l’establiment de polítiques lingüístiques adequades per a la recuperació de les llengües en perill.

This website, entitled “Toward Regional Guidelines for the Integration of Roms”, is the Romani project website of the European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI), a project which is aimed at assessing the needs of the Romani population in the Republic of Macedonia. The needs assessment conducted by ECMI from September to November 2003 was divided into four core areas: education, health, civil rights, and employment. For each core area, attention was given not only to the situation of the Romani population in general, but also to the position of Romani women in particular. The needs assessment was designed with the intention that the evaluation report resulting from it could serve in turn as the foundation of a strategy aimed at increasing Roms’ level of integration into the society of Macedonia as a whole by equipping them with the resources needed for playing an effective role in a democratic society based on the rule of law as well as for participating successfully in a competitive labour market. Aquesta pàgina web, titulada “Toward Regional Guidelines for the Integration of Roms” (“Cap a unes directrius regionals per a la integració dels romà”) és el projecte de pàgina web romaní de l’ECMI (European Centre for Minority Issues), un projecte que té l’objectiu d’avaluar les necessitats de la població romaní de la República de Macedònia. L’avaluació d’aquestes necessitats realitzada per l’ECMI de setembre a novembre de 2003 es va repartir en quatre àmbits centrals: l’educació, la sanitat, els drets civils i el treball. Per a cada àmbit, no només es va posar atenció a la situació de la població romaní en general, sinó també a la posició de les dones romaní en particular. L’avaluació de les seves necessitats es va dissenyar amb la intenció que l’informe que en resultés podria servir a la vegada com a base d’una estratègia per incrementar el nivell d’integració dels romà en el conjunt de la societat de Macedònia tot equipant-los amb els recursos que calen per tenir un paper efectiu en una societat democràtica basada en l’estat de dret i per poder participar de manera reeixida en un mercat laboral competitiu. The “Treasure of the Aragonese Language”, carried out by the Institute of High-Aragonese Studies (Instituto de Estudios Altoaragoneses) with the collaboration of the Council of the Aragonese Language (Consello d’a Fabla Aragonesa), started in 1997 and is conceived as a long-term project. Its objective is to create a continuously updated computer database of the Aragonese lexicon. This will allow the creation in the future of an Aragonese lexicography information office as well as dictionaries and other codification and normalisation instruments. The website gives account of numerous tools and publications which already exist.

El “Tresoro d'a Luenga Aragonesa”, dut a terme per l’Instituto de Estudios Altoaragoneses amb la col·laboració del Consello d’a Fabla Aragonesa, es va iniciar el 1997 i està concebut com un projecte a llarg termini. El seu objectiu consisteix a crear una base de dades del lèxic aragonès informatitzada i actualitzada de manera contínua. Això permetrà que en el futur es pugui crear una oficina d’informació lexicogràfica aragonesa així com també diccionaris i altres instruments de codificació i normalització. La pàgina web presenta nombroses eines i publicacions que ja existeixen.

The Movement of Defence of the Language (Movimento de Defesa da Lingua), born in 1995, works for the naturalisation of the language proper to Galicia, internally known as Galician and internationally as Portuguese, and for the reintegration of Galician in the linguistic system to which it belongs, i.e. the Lusophony, in order to the reverse the process of language shift from Galician/Portuguese to Spanish.

El Movimento Defesa da Lingua (M.D.L.), nascut el 1995, treballa perquè es naturalitzi la llengua pròpia de Galícia, internament coneguda com a gallec i internacionalment com a portuguès, i perquè el gallec es reintegri al sistema lingüístic al que pertany, és a dir la Lusofonia, per tal de capgirar el procés de substitució lingüística del gallec/portuguès pel castellà.

Although much of the information of this website is not yet available, it promises to be of great use. It is an ongoing ECMI project and further countries will be added. The Ethnopolitical Map of Europe is intended to cover those regions in Europe, including the Balkans, the Baltic Sea area and the Caucasus, which are currently facing or have recently experienced ethnopolitical tension or conflict. The clickable map guides the users to official documents which reflect international involvement in the reduction of ethnopolitical tension and resolution of interethnic conflicts. Further, the map provides information on population statistics, current national legislation and relevant literature on the ethnopolitical situation in those countries.

Tot i que la major part de la informació d’aquesta pàgina web encara no està disponible, promet ser molt útil. Es tracta d’un projecte en procés dut a terme per l’ECMI en el qual més endavant s’hi afegiran més països. El Mapa etnopolític d’Europa vol cobrir les regions d’Europa, incloent-hi els Balcans, la zona del Mar Bàltic i el Caucas, que actualment o recentment es troben o s’han trobat en una situació de tensió o conflicte etnopolític. És un mapa clicable que mena els usuaris a documents oficials que reflecteixen la implicació internacional en la reducció de la tensió etnopolítica i la resolució de conflictes interètnics. A més, el mapa ofereix informació sobre estadístiques de població, la legislació nacional actual i literatura rellevant sobre la situació etnopolítica d’aquests països.

CREECA is a U. S. Department of Education National Resource Center. It was established in 1993 to unite the efforts of two longstanding University programmes–Russian and East European Studies (REES), and Central Asian Studies. CREECA consists of roughly 100 members including many nationally and internationally known experts in their fields. Its mission is threefold: to foster new knowledge and understanding of Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia, to train a new generation by providing the knowledge, tools, and experience necessary for understanding these societies and for playing productive roles in their reconstruction, and to serve as a community resource through outreach activities designed for Wisconsin's citizens, businesses and other parties interested in these regions of the world. El CREECA és un centre de recursos nacional del Departament d’Educació dels EUA. Es va crear el 1993 amb l’objectiu d’unir els esforços de dos programes universitaris de llarga tradició: els Estudis Russos i Esteuropeus (Russian and East European Studies – REES) i els Estudis Centreasiàtics (Central Asian Studies). El CREECA està integrat per unes 100 persones, inclosos molts experts coneguts als EUA i internacionalment.
