El Gaelport és una lloc ben útil per a tots aquells qui desitgin obtenir informació al voltant dels darrers progressos en la promocío de la llengua irlandesa. Un bon exemple el constitueix l’actualitzada informació sobre la recent llei de llengües oficials. Els ususaris poden subscriure’s a la seva “newsletter” tant en la seva versió només en irlandès com en la seva versió bilingüe irlandès/anglès.

The Sociolinguistics, Bilingualism and Language Contact Seminar (SSL) was created in order to promote the research in the enormous field of language and society. The members of the SSL are researchers and teachers in the fields of Galician and Linguistics in the University of Vigo. Users can access the online journal Estudios de Sociolingüística. Linguas, sociedades e culturas (EdS) which has two issues a year. EdS addresses to a national and international specialized reading public, and adopts a wide conception towards the limits of this discipline. This journal assumes as of its own the interdisciplinary character of sociolinguistics.

O Seminario de Sociolingüística, Bilingüismo e Contacto de Linguas (SSL) creouse co obxectivo primordial de promover a investigación relacionada co vasto campo das linguas en sociedade. Os membros do SSL son profesores e investigadores das áreas de Filoloxía Galega e de Lingüística Xeral da Universidade de Vigo. O Seminario de Sociolingüística edita a revista Estudios de Sociolingüística (EdS). La revista ten dous números por ano. Diríxese a un público lector especializado, nacional e internacional, e adopta unha concepción ampla sobre os límites da sociolingüística, asumindo como propio o seu carácter interdisciplinar.

This is a complete sociolinguistic approach to the situation of the Galician language in the city of Vigo. The study was jointly undertaken in 2002 by the University of Vigo, the Vigo city Council and the Servicio de Normalización Lingüística of the city council.

Es tracta d’un complet estudi sociolingüístic sobre la situació de la llengua gallega a la ciutat de Vigo. L’estudi va ser elaborat conjuntament l’any 2002 per la Universitat de Vigo, l’ajuntament de Vigo i el Servei de Normalització Lingüística del mateix ajuntament.

The report was commissioned by the Language Policy Unit of the Directorate General for Education and Culture (European Commission), and undertaken in collaboration by the European Bureau for Lesser Used Languages (EBLUL) and the European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI). It is available in its original English version. This study provides a thoroughgoing analysis of the issues surrounding the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages in the European Union context.

L’informe va ser encarregat per la Unitat de Política Lingüística de la Direcció general per a l’Educació i Cultura (Comissió Europea) i elaborat en col·laboració entre el l’Oficina Europea per a les Llengües Menys Difoses (EBLUL) i el European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI). És disponible en la seva versió original en anglès. L’estudi aporta una anàlisi transversal dels aspectes que envolten la protecció i la promoció de les llengües regionals i minoritàries en el context de la Unió Europea.
