L’Organització per a les Minories Europees és una associació promotora de les minories europees que treballa per a la difusió d’informació al voltant de les minories europees i pobles autòctons més extensos, grups ètnics i àrees amb una forta identitat. La seva pàgina web fou creada l’any 1999 i en el seu començament donava a conèixer les banderes de les minories europees, sota el nom d’”Euroflag”, i després ha evolucional cap a un banc de dades més complet. L’Organització per a les Minories Europees recopila informació sobre les minories europees gràcies a la tasca de recerca que duu a terme la seva xarxa de corresponsals en territori europeu. Degut a la gran quantitat de feina, la pàgina web està en permanent evolució i actualització permanent.

The Organisation for the European Minorities is an association of promotion of the European minorities which aims at the diffusion of information on European minorities and more largely native peoples, ethnic groups and areas with strong identity. Its website was created in 1999 and referred at its beginnings the flags of the European minorities, under the name of "Euroflag", evolving to a more complete database. The Organisation for the European Minorities collects information on European minorities thanks to the research carried out by a network of correspondents on the European territory. Because it is the very big work what the research task implies, the website is in permanent evolution and is updated regularly.

El ”Groupement pour les Droits des Minorités” (GDM) és una associació francesa afiliada al International Minoroty Rights Group (MRG) de Londres. Aquesta última és una organització no-governamental que gaudaeix d’un estatus consultiu dins de les Nacions Unides, la UE i el Consell d’Europa. El GDM pretén contribuir a la defensa dels drets humans i, més particularment, del dret de les minories, de tipus d’origen nacional, religiós, cultural o lingüístic. Per tal de dur a terme els seus objectius, el GDM es defineix com un recurs d’informació sobre la situació de les minories (publicacions, actes públics, etc.), i també contribueix a reflexionar sobre els conceptes de minoria, identitat i les seves formulacions jurídiques.

The “Groupement pour les Droits des Minorités” (GDM) is a French association affiliated to the International Minority Rights Group (MRG) of London. The latter is a non-governmental organisation which has a consultative status for the UN, the EU and the Council of Europe. GDM intends to contribute to the defence of human rights and more specifically to minority rights of a national, religious, cultural or linguistic nature. In order to fulfil its objectives, GDM defines itself as an information resource on the situation of minorities (publications, public events, etc.) and it also contributes to reflect on the concepts of minority, identity and their legal formulations.

Editors de diaris que representen més de 10 comunitats lingüístiques d’Europa decidiren aplegar-se en una associació que coordinés les seves estratègies i augmentés la seva cooperació pel que fa a la publicació, el màrqueting i l’obtenció de finançament. També es pretén donar l’oportunitat a aquelles comunitats que actualment no disposen de cap diari escrit de col·laborar amb els ja existents, així com l’ús de nou mitjans com ara l’internet (per exemple, per mitjà de pàgines d’inici comunes, un arxiu de diaris, enllaços a diversos diaris i d’organitzacions) per tal d’oferir informació ràpida i global. A més, l’organització preveu també actuar com a grup de pressió a les institucions de Brussel·les o per mitjà de campanyes publicitàries comunes, de manera que també constitueix una plataforma en altres àrees relatives a les minories.

Newspaper editors representing more than 10 linguistic communities in Europe decided to create an association that would co-ordinate strategies and increase co-operation in publishing, marketing and obtaining funding sources. It also aims at providing minorities which do not have a daily paper with the possibility of collaborating with existing minority papers, for instance by using new media such as the internet (e.g. common homepages, a newspaper archive, links to the various papers and minority organisations), in order to provide quick and global information. In addition, the organisation also foresees common lobbying for minority protection at Brussels institutions or the use of common advertising campaigns, making a wide advertising platform in other minority-related areas.
