Constitutional Law no. 1/2001 of December 12th

Fifth Constitutional revision

The Assembly of the Republic, making use of the powers to reform the Constitution of which it is entitled by line a) of Article 161 of the Constitution, decrees the following Constitutional Law:

Article 3

1- In the heading of Article 11 of the Constitution the expression “and official language” is added.
2- A 3rd subparagraph with the following wording is added to the same article:
“3- The official language is Portuguese”
